Burlington went 9-5-5 overall this regular season after a slow start. The Red Devils were 7-5-5 in league play, second to only defending Division 2 state champion Wilmington.

Girls Basketball Playing for a Shot at the Best

On the hardwood, the Lady Red Devils open on Thursday at 7 p.m. at home against Lynn Classical. The winner of that game moves on to the quarterfinal round to face off with unbeaten defending state champion Reading on Sunday.

Burlington earned the No. 8 seed in the tournament with an 11-9 record while 12-10 Lynn Classical is the brackets No. 9 ranked team.

Boys Basketball Hopes to Put Brighton on Upset Alert

The Red Devils are the No. 12 seed in the North Division 2 boys basketball tournament, earning an opening round tilt against No. 5 Brighton on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The game is set to take place at Latin Academy.

Burlington is led by junior Shane Farley, who recently scored 50 points in an overtime victory versus Wilmington.
