BHS Graduates Celebrate at All-Night Party

The students in the class of 2011 celebrated at the annual post-grad party at BHS.

The Class of 2011 graduated under sunny skies on Sunday, June 5. Sunday night they celebrated all night at the post-grad party that is held in the cafeteria. This annual event is funded by community and parent donations and is run by parent volunteers. It is a special night that has a very high graduate participation each year.

This event provides graduates with a fun, safe place to celebrate with their friends. Since its inception 21 years ago, no Burlington graduates have been involved in alcohol-related accidents on their graduation night and it is due to the fact they have a safe place to be with their friends. Students arrive at 10:00 p.m. and remain at the party until 5:00 a.m. The cafeteria is transformed into a Mardi Gras theme with decorations, lighting, and music. The night is filled with fun, high-energy activities including inflatable jousting, sumo wrestling, a comedy hypnotist, ping-pong, XBox stations (donated and staffed by Best Buy) and much more. Food and beverages are served throughout the night and into the morning.

Each student in attendance receives a gift and a few lucky students win some big-ticket prizes including a 19-inch TV (donated by Best Buy) and Red Sox tickets (donated by the Bertolami and the Franson families).  Other great gifts include a dorm refrigerator, microwave, comforter set, luggage, and more. In addition, each student receives a memory book and a senior video.
