State Sen. Donnelly Wins Re-Election

With a majority of town reporting the race is being called for Kenneth Donnelly.

State Sen. Ken Donnelly, D-Arlington, has been re-elected by district voters to continue to represent the Fourth Middlesex District based on the towns that have reported thus far. 

The district includes the towns of Arlington, Woburn, Lexington, Burlington and Billerica.

At this time Woburn, Burlington and Arlington have reported the results of the state senator's re-election bid against Republican challenger Gerry Dembrowski.

In Woburn Donnelly took 10,065 votes versus Dembrowski's 6,989. In Burlington he won 7,310 to 4,769. In Lexington, Donnelly tallied 8,239 votes to Dembrowski's 2,664. And in his hometown of Arlington he took a whopping 19,292 to 4,283. Billerica had not reported results at the time of this report.

Donnelly was first elected in 2009 and he chairs the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight and is the vice chair on the Joint Committee on Children, Families, and Persons with Disabilities.
