Burlington Players Honored by Board of Selectmen
The group won a national award for their production of "Radium Girls."
Burlington's theater group The Burlington Players were honored by the Board of Selectmen Monday night.
The group recently took home the prize of Best Production in the Nation from the American Association of Community Theaters.
The group won for their performance of "Radium Girls." The play tells the story women working in factories who, because of their exposure to glow-in-the-dark paint, contracted radiation poison in the early twentieth century. The women eventually won the right for workers to sue employers over occupational diseases.
On Monday night Chairman of the Board of Selectmen Robert Hogan read a proclamation officially honoring the group for their accomplishment. Check out the video of the proclamation.
