Wrong Way Highway Driver Charged With OUI, Multiple Pedestrians Struck by Vehicles

The following log entries were provided by the Burlington Police Department. Where mentioned, an arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, June 10

  • At 12:38 a.m. a Wilmington Road caller reported that someone was trying to get into his house. The elderly person and his caretaker said they heard walking and footsteps on the outside of the house, but nothing was located.
  • At 2:30 p.m. a woman said a man was in a white car taking pictures of her Skilton Lane home. The vehicle was gone on police arrival.
  • At 3:57 p.m. a Ray Ave. caller reported a woman fell off the balance beam and was complaining of back pain. The Fire Department was notified.
  • At 4:06 p.m. an ambulance was requested to Francis Wyman Road where a vehicle struck a pedestrian in traffic. A woman was transported to an area hospital.
  • At 7:14 p.m. a woman was struck by a vehicle on Wayside Road. The woman was transported to Lahey Clinic.
Wednesday, June 11
  • At 10:37 a.m. a car fire was reported on Middlesex Turnpike. An officer shut down the ramp to Exit 32B of Route 128 North. Burlington Fire Department put out the fire and handled the incident.
  • At 3:30 p.m. police were notified that sometime after 9 p.m. the previous day someone broke into a Jeep Cherokee on Rita Ave. Two pairs of sunglasses and the registration were taken from the glove compartment.
  • At 9:48 p.m. a caller reported that he was assaulted by his son at Beacon Village. A Burlington man, 28, was summonsed for assault and battery on a person over 60 years old.
Thursday, June 12
  • At 12:12 a.m. State Police reported a motor vehicle going the wrong was on I-95 South. A detail officer stopped the car on Winn Street. Peter Charles Spencer, 31, of 5 Saran Ave., Bedford, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor and motor vehicle bylaw violation.
  • At 12:26 p.m. Lord and Taylor loss prevention reported a woman in the dressing room and a tan Buick parked outside the door. An Everett woman was summonsed for third offense shoplifting by concealing and larceny over $250. Marisol D. Lugo, 36, of 15 Clarence Street Apt. 3, Everett, was arrested on two outstanding warrants.
