Woman Robbed at Knifepoint at Burlington Mall

Police are searching for the suspect.

Burlington Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a woman at knife point in the parking lot of the this afternoon.

According to Sergeant David McLean of the at approximately 3 p.m. this afternoon police responded to a call of an armed robbery at the Burlington Mall. According to police, a woman was sitting in her car in the lot with her door slightly ajar when a man allegedly pulled the door open and demanded her purse. The victim said the man showed her a knife during the robbery. The female victim was not injured during the robbery.

According to the victim the man ran into a nearby executive park. Police created a perimeter around the area and called in a K9 unit which was able to track the scent of the suspect into the executive park, where it disappeared.

"We assume the man got into a vehicle and fled the area," Sgt. McLeon said.

Police were able to get a couple of fingerprints off the vehicle and are currently processing them.

According to a description provided by the victim, the suspect is a man in his early to late 20s with a thin build, olive complexion, dark hair and bad teeth. He was described as wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans
