Woman Reports Lewd Gesture from Motorist, Vehicle Stolen While Owner Payed for Gas

Burlington Police Department logs from December 16 to 17.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, December 16- 

  • At 6:47 a.m. a Beacon Village caller reported that her elderly father who suffers from Alzheimer's went missing overnight. Wilmington Police called to report that they had transported an elderly male to the hospital the night before. Made contact and confirmed it was the same man. 
  • At 11:55 a.m. an Oxbow Lane caller reported that someone used her credit card without permission. 
  • At 3:20 p.m. a caller at Lahey Clinic reported a white male in a red motor vehicle made hand signals as to be a sexual gesture towards her. 
  • At 5:34 p.m. police pulled over a driver on Middlesex Turnpike who was sleeping while stopped in traffic. The driver stated he was tired from work and showed no signs of impairment or medical issues. Driver parked his vehicle and police drove him home. 
  • At 6:42 p.m. an Arthurwoods Avenue caller reported the license plate was stolen off their vehicle. 
  • At 8:01 p.m. a caller reported a snowmobile operator on the fields at Pine Glen Elementary causing damage. Police observed tracks in the field but the snowmobile was no longer in the area. 
  • At 8:35 p.m. police issued a summons to a Concord resident on a charge of assault and battery. Summons issued after report of domestic incident. 
Tuesday, December 17- 
  • At 7:50 a.m. police arrested Stephen Swan Hingston, 26, of 6 Alcott Street, Boston, on a charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise. 
  • At 3:54 p.m. a Bedford Street caller reported damage to her mailbox. 
  • At 6:48 p.m. there was a report of a vehicle theft from the Shell station at 61 Middlesex Turnpike. Vehicle stolen while owner was paying for gas. The vehicle is a gray 2011 Volkswagen Routan. 
  • At 8:39 p.m. police summonsed a Woburn man on a charge of larceny over $250. Summonsed issued after a Best Buy employee reported the theft of an iPhone 5 valued at $900. 
  • At 10:51 p.m. a caller reported a fight in the parking lot of the Cambridge Street Shell station. Caller said the two people involved left in separate vehicles and Lahey Clinic security said it believed one of the people involved was possibly in the emergency room. Report says it was a physical confrontation but both parties declined going forward with a court procedure.
