Woman Brandishes Knife While Stealing $3,000 in Jeans

The following are Burlington Police log entries from July 22 to July 25.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, July 22

  • At 12:00 p.m. security at Immigration and Customs Enforcement reported a despondent man outside threatening to do harm to himself if he was not deported. The man was seeking assistance from ICE to be sent back to his home country of Russia. He said his lawyer told him to tell ICE agents that if they do not send him back free of cost that he will hurt himself. The man checked out OK and said he had no intention of hurting himself, he was simply following the advice of his lawyer.
  • At 7:00 p.m. a resident told police that her teenage daughter was talking to a boy she does not know and he asked for inappropriate pictures. Police assisted the mother in talking to her daughter about the dangers of social media sites.
Tuesday, July 23
  • At 10:43 a.m. police received a call from Irene Street from a resident who reported two vehicles broken into sometime after 9:30 p.m. the previous night. The cars that were broken into were ransacked, though it was unclear if anything was taken.
  • At 2:48 p.m. Nordstrom reported a man involved in credit card fraud from the previous week was back in the area. Young Noh, 51, of 163 Sanford Ave., Flushing, N.Y., was arrested and charged with uttering a false document, attempting to commit a crime, improper use of a credit card over $250, and forging or uttering a forged credit card.
  • At 4:59 p.m. a Best Buy employee reported past theft of a $449.99 television that occurred about 30 minutes ago. The suspect fled in a car with Rhode Island plates.
  • At 6:16 p.m. Macy's reported an unknown amount of merchandise taken from the store. A hispanic female allegedly stole 10-15 pairs of jeans valued at about $3,000. When Loss Prevention approached the woman, she pulled a knife out while fleeing in a silver minivan. Employees gave a plate number, but the vehicle came back as a stolen plate. Burlington officers helped Bedford Police with the suspect van shortly after the incident.
Wednesday, July 24
  • At 7:05 p.m. a Arboretum Way resident reported that she was due a UPS delivery on July 1 but never received the item. When she contacted UPS, she was told the delivery was made on the scheduled day. The package was valued at $612.68.
Thursday, July 25
  • At 9:16 p.m. a Maud Graham Circle resident reported that his wife heard someone banging on the side door 15-20 times about 15 minutes before. Officers walked around the home but everything checked out OK.
