Waltham Man Arrested After Road Rage Incident

The Waltham man allegedly pulled out a knife during a scuffle with another man.

A Waltham man was arrested last week after he allegedly pulled a knife during a fight in Watertown that started with a road rage incident.

Vincenzo P. Alonge, 21, of 91 Lauricella Ln., was arrested on Wednesday, May 11, and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon and malicious destruction of property more than $250, according to Watertown Police Sgt. Michael Lawn.

After the fight began around 12:58 p.m., Alonge allegedly punctured two tires of the other man’s car, Lawn said.

The two men first began yelling at each other after a traffic altercation at the intersection of Pleasant and Bridge streets in Watertown. Then, both men drove for several blocks and when they both turned onto Falmouth Road, when Alonge, who was ahead of the other man, made a U-turn, got out of his car and the pair began fighting, Lawn said.

“Alonge broke loose and pulled out a knife and displayed it toward the other man,” Lawn said. “The other driver fled, and when he came back he found that the front two tires of his car had been stabbed.”

Police were able to identify the driver as Alonge, Lawn said, and went to Waltham to arrest him.
