Two Youths Arrested for Allegedly Shoplifting, Iguana at Apartment Window

Burlington Police Department logs for October 14-15.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, October 14- 

  • At 12:41 a.m. a caller on Cambridge Street reported kids lighting sticks on fire and causing a ruckus at the Used Book Superstore. The youths were gone when police arrived. 
  • At 3:24 p.m. a caller at Hallmark Gardens reported finding an iguana outside his window at about 2 p.m. 
  • At 3:43 p.m. police arrested two 14-year-old juveniles on charges of larceny over $250. One male and one female juveniles allegedly attempted to steal approximately $1,000 in merchandise from Sears. The two were released to their parents. 
  • At 4 p.m. a caller reported dirt bike riders at the Reservoir Water Treatment facility. 
  • At 8:21 p.m. there was a report of an armed robbery at the Dunkin Donuts at 28 Winn Street. The suspect was wearing a ski mask, black hooded jacket, jeans, black sneakers and black gloves. Click here for the full story
Tuesday, October 15- 
  • At 8 a.m. a caller on Cambridge Street reported a dead raccoon. Animal Control to handle. 
  • At 10:45 a.m. a caller at Burlington High School reported a hit and run accident. The caller said a black vehicle side-swiped their vehicle and never stopped to exchange paperwork. 
  • At 12:37 p.m. a Locust Street caller reported a tree crew being harassed by a neighbor. Police spoke to all parties who agreed the tree should be cut down. 
  • At 1:33 p.m. a caller at the Dunkin Donuts on Cambridge Street reported an erratic driver struck a pole at the drive through and drove off towards Shaws. The owner was subsequently transported to Lahey Clinic. 
  • At 2:30 p.m. a caller at Francis Wyman Elementary School reported an older male in front of the school and believes he had urinated behind a tree. Police spoke to the man who had gone to the tree line to urinate and advised him. 
  • At 4:34 p.m. a manager at the Winn Street Dunkin Donuts requested a media crew leave the property. The media crew was advised by police and left the area. 
  • At 6:18 p.m. Burlington Mall security reported a past fight between two males. One of the men left on a bus and the other was walking through the mall. The two men had an altercation over a female that works at the mall.
