Suspicious Man Reported Outside Laundromat

Burlington Police Department log entries from June 22 to June 26.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, June 22

At 1:41 a.m. a resident reported that he parked in the Beacon Village parking lot and found a small child two or three years old with no parents in the area. The mother of the child was located, and informed that the Department of Children and Families would be contacted.

At 8:02 p.m. the manager at Winn Street Laundry Center told police that the last few days there has been a suspicious man hanging out in the area around closing time. The man does not do any laundry and has been making customers nervous. An officer stood by while the store was closing and advised the owner of his options.

Sunday, June 23

At 1:52 p.m. a caller from Middlesex Turnpike reported that two black males attempted to steal two children’s bikes and a disturbance ensued. Officers reported that it appeared to be a misunderstanding, and it was settled.

At 3:10 p.m. officers received a call for a past motor vehicle hit and run. A 40-year-old Burlington resident was summonsed for reckless operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage, wanton destruction of property greater than $250 and disorderly conduct.

Monday, June 24

At 1:24 a.m. multiple minors were transported to the police station and picked up by their parents. A 19-year-old Burlington man was summonsed for selling or delivering liquor to a person under 21 years old.

Tuesday, June 25

At 9:36 a.m. on Taylor Ave. a resident reported hearing a gun shot. The officer who responded discovered that the concrete company working in the area was making loud noises.

At 10:54 a.m. an officer reported that a limb hit wires on Winn Street and was on fire, but out now. The Fire Department cleared the scene.

At 6:29 p.m. a resident was struck by a car while riding his bike on Bedford Street. The rider refused medical treatment.

Wednesday, June 26

At 10:36 p.m. a Farms Drive caller reported two men sitting in a truck across the way. The men checked out OK as they were doing a fire watch on one of the buildings.
