Report of Car Run Off Road and Into Brook, $800 Theft at Retailer

Burlington Police Department logs for October 23 to 24.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, October 23- 

  • At 2:35 a.m. a Joanne Road caller reported that a male in his early 20s knocked on the door and asked for a ride to Boston. The male then walked off. Police checked the area but did not locate anyone in the area. 
  • At 8:52 a.m. a Fox Hill Elementary School caller reported a 10-year-old student walked away from the school. The student was found in the wooded area behind the school. 
  • At 12:48 p.m. a driver claimed she was run off the road at the entrance to Vine Brook Plaza. Her vehicle ended up in the brook. Conservation and Board of Health personnel notified and cleared the scene. No injuries reported. 
  • At 6:47 p.m. a caller reported that she and her boyfriend were threatened by another male during an altercation over a parking space at the Burlington Mall. 
Thursday, October 24- 
  • At 9:42 a.m. a caller at the plaza at 34 Cambridge Street reported a set of pallet fork lifts and 37 shrubs were taken from the renovation project. 
  • At 4:45 p.m. police issued a summons to a Westford man on charges of failing to stop/yield, no inspection sticker and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. 
  • At 5:10 p.m. a caller on Mall Road said a passenger in a car with New Hampshire plates threw coffee at her car. 
  • At 5:43 p.m. a caller in Wayside plaza reported their vehicle was struck in a hit and run accident. 
  • At 7:29 p.m. a caller from Nordstrom Rack reported a theft of $800 in merchandise and that the suspect fled in a vehicle.
