Repeat Shoplifters Arrested, Woman Reports Daughter Chased Her With Knife

Sunday, June 15

  • At 12:51 a.m. a Westwood Street caller reported cars drag racing. Police checked the area but were unable to locate.
  • At 4:30 a.m. an off duty Lexington Police officer reported a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and acting suspicious on Middlesex Turnpike. Police checked and the man was sent on his way.
  • At 10:22 a.m. a woman reported she believes her purse was stolen from her vehicle. The woman said she used a pump at a Cambridge Street gas station. When she returned home she found her purse and its contents were missing.
  • At 6:10 p.m. a caller on Donald Road reported that his daughter was chasing him with a knife. Police on scene reported that no crime was committed.
  • At 9:10 p.m. an intoxicated man was refusing to leave Chili's. A homeless man, 40, was taken into protective custody.
Monday, June 16
  • At 11:20 a.m. a caller reported a white male walking through his backyard with a blue bag.
  • At 12:09 p.m. a resident at CVS reported that her vehicle was taken without authority. The caller did not wish to file a report, hoping her son would return the vehicle.
  • At 4:34 p.m. Macy's reported a shoplifter. Police responded and arrested Heather M. Martin, 39, of 40 South Ave. Apt. 117, Burlington. Martin was charged with larceny over $250, second offense shoplifting by concealing, and three counts of receiving stolen property less than $250.
  • At 5:55 p.m. an ambulance was requested to Market Basket. A one-year-old baby was transported to Winchester Hospital by Burlington Fire Department for treatment. An off duty medical doctor was on scene as officers arrived.
  • At 7:38 p.m. Macy's loss prevention reported they had a man detained for shoplifting. Burlington Police arrived and arrested Jason M. Ventolieri, 37, of 25 Martin Road, Tewksbury. Ventolieri was charged with third offense shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
