Police Searching for Suspect After Islamic Center Safe Theft

200-pound safe stolen with thousands of dollars inside.

Burlington police are looking for a suspect after the was robbed for the fourth time since December of last year.

According to the Boston Herald, in the latest robbery this past Saturday the thief not only stole from the donation boxes, as in the past, but also dragged out a 200-pound safe with thousands of dollars. The Herald also reports that in a previous robbery the thief used a Quran to break open a donation box.

Police say the thief was caught on surveillance camera each time the Islamic Center was robbed. In the first incident on Dec. 14 there was a second man involved in the robbery.

In the latest robbery, which happened between 9 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday, police say a white male wearing what looks like a workman's uniform was seen on the surveillance tape.
