Police: Man With Semi-Automatic Handgun Arrested at Hyatt House
A New York man was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon after police found a semi-automatic handgun that reports said he used to threaten a woman.
Burlington Police made an early-morning arrest today after receiving reports of a man with a gun at local hotel.
According to a release from the Burlington Police Department, on Wednesday Feb. 20, at approximately 1:40 a.m. members of the the Burlington Police Department responded to a report of a man with a gun at the Hyatt House, 2 Van De Graff Drive.
The initial report indicated the man had threatened a woman with the gun inside a room at the hotel and was now in the hallway.

Officers located and questioned Luis Pinder of New York, N.Y. who denied any knowledge of a gun.
However, after interviewing witnesses, the Burlington K-9 responded to perform a search of the area. The search led officers to the parking lot where ammunition was found in a snow bank behind a storage trailer. Police say a semi-automatic handgun was also located after officers used a metal detector as part of the search.

Pinder was arrested and charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Weapon Unlicensed, Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Firearm while intoxicated and Threat to Commit a Crime.
