Police Logs: Shoplifters Arrested, Sick Fox in Yard and Boat Stolen

Burlington Police Department logs from Aug. 11 to 12

 Following are excerpts from the log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Aug. 11

  • At 6:23 a.m. a Wildwood Street caller reported a man lying on the ground. An intoxicated 22-year-old was brought inside by his girlfriend's father.
  • At 10:07 a.m. a Howard Road caller reported an injured fox in the yard. Animal control called to destroy the animal.
  • At 12:21 p.m. a caller from the Arlington Road and Cambridge Street bus station reported that a male assaulted a female multiple times.
  • At 12:51 p.m. police responded to a call of a baby locked in a car on Seven Springs Lane. AAA was on scene but could not access the vehicle. The baby seemed to be in distress so police and AAA broke the window to gain access. The mother, who was on scene, said she would monitor the child. Baby appeared okay.
  • At 4:30 p.m. a caller from Dunkin Donuts at 69 Middlesex Turnpike reported that her car was broken into and her wallet was stolen.
  • At 5:16 p.m. police issued a summons to a Framingham man on charges of operating a motor vehicle without a license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
  • At 6:41 p.m. police arrested Mitchell Similien, 19, of 755 Westford St., Lowell on a charge of shoplifting $100+ by concealing merchandise. Arrest made after reported being in pursuit of a male shoplifter. 

Aug. 12

  • At 12:36 a.m. a caller reported three males in a parking lot on Littles Brook CT pulling on car door handles. Police found the three males and identified them and notified their parents due to youth status.
  • At 1:28 p.m. police spoke with a Victoria's Secret manager and Assistant Director of Mall Security who were requesting a verbal trespass of a person while official paperwork is filed. Police contacted party who understood he is not allowed on mall property.
  • At 2:03 p.m. a Douglas Avenue caller reported a boat missing from the road, which was owned by his father. Caller stated the family recently evicted his father's girlfriend and she might be involved.
  • At 2:34 p.m. reported a female shoplifter stole $290 worth of merchandise. Property recovered.
  • At 4:45 p.m. a Hope Street caller reported a fox in the yard. According to police report officer found a healthy fox in the garden and yelled "hey fox go home." The fox left the area.
  • At 6:34 p.m. police arrested to females after a report by of detaining two shoplifters being detained that attempted to steal close to $1,000 in merchandise. Police arrested Daniela Michelle Arrano, 18, of 68 Myrtle St., Apartment 1, on a charge of shoplifting $100) by asportation. Police also arrested Kimberly Blaise, 20, of 3 Thistle Road, Woburn, on a charge of shoplifting $100+ by asportation.
