Police Logs: Phone Scams Reported, Multiple Shoplifting Arrests and OUI Arrest

Burlington Police Department logs for Dec. 29 to 30.

Why do you identify the names of some people arrested but not others? For instance, if you look at the entries for Dec. 29th, you name an arrested person at the 3:47 p.m. entry, but not the man arrested at 5:30?

Hi Theresa, thanks for your question. I list the names of those arrested if the charges are listed and if that charge is not 'protective custody.' In the example above I did not list the name of the person arrested at 5:30 p.m. because instead of charges it just says 'warrant arrest' in the logs, which could for something as innocuous as unpaid tickets. Not enough information for me to feel comfortable putting a name on the site. We also do not name juveniles are people who are summonsed.
