Police Hold 'Saturation Patrol' to Crack Down on Driving Offenses

The Burlington Police Department is cracking down on traffic and vehicle violations and recently engaged in a 'saturation patrol' as part of the effort. 

According to a release from the Burlington Police Department, on Friday November 8 the department participated in high visibility traffic enforcement in the Town of Burlington.  

Surrounding agencies who also participated included the Wilmington Police Department, Woburn Police Department, and the Massachusetts State Police. Each agency patrolled their respective jurisdiction with the State Police supplementing the local patrols.

During the course of the evening the Burlington Police stopped sixty seven motor vehicles for various violations from 6 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., the release states. One arrest was made for a minor transporting alcohol. Two individuals were taken into protective custody and two unregistered vehicles were towed from the roadway.

"As we approach the holiday season, the Burlington Police would like to remind residents to use a designated driver and always buckle up," the release states.
