The Burlington Police Department and federal agents found explosive devices and weapons in a Burlington man's home.
According to a release from the Burlington Police Department, on Thursday Aug. 15, Burlington Police Detectives, along with Agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad responded to 31 Francis Wyman Road in Burlington to execute a search warrant seeking possible explosive devices, components of explosive devices, and silencers.
Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad identified an explosive device in the basement of the home. The device was dismantled and made safe at the scene. ATF Special Agents discovered three firearm silencers and evidence of a firearm being discharged within the dwelling. Components of explosive devices and several firearms were seized from the property.
Gary Josephson, age 47, was arraigned at Woburn District Court the following day. He is being charged by the Burlington Police with the following offenses; Possession of an explosive device, Possession of components capable of making a destructive device, Possession of a silencer (3 counts), and Discharge of a firearm within 500ft of a dwelling.
