The Burlington Fire Department confirmed reports of a pedestrian being struck on Winn Street and Peach Orchard Road this evening.
Lt. Jim Sorenson of the said that at 6:55 p.m. the department responded to a call of a struck pedestrian at the intersection. He said when emergency crews arrived they found a 20-year-old male who had been struck while crossing the street.
Sorenson said the male was conscious and alert when emergency responders arrived. He was transported to .
"He'll be okay," Sorenson said.
Police had been diverting traffic off of Winn Street but the road is now reopened.
Sgt. Timothy McDonough of the said the incident is still under investigation. He added no charges have been levied against the driver at this time.
