Over $1,200 in Items Stolen from Construction Site, Man Throws Ball at Vehicle and Yells at Driver

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, December 21- 

  • At 10:25 a.m. emergency crews responded to the Wegmans construction site at 53 Third Avenue after an employee had a seizure and was turning blue. Burlington Fire transported employee to hospital. 
  • At 11:22 a.m. Nordstrom security reported detaining a minor male for allegedly shoplifting $38 in merchandise. Minor released to his parents. 
  • At 12:10 p.m. a caller at Burlington High School reported that a white male waling a German Shepherd threw a tennis ball at her vehicle and yelled obscenities, apparently believing she was speeding. The man was gone when police arrived. 
  • At 4:15 p.m. a Muller Road caller reported that approximately $1,200 in property was stolen from a construction site and that an additional $3,000 worth of damage was caused. 
  • At 6:25 p.m. a caller at the Burlington Mall reported their vehicle was struck in a hit and run accident. 
Sunday, December 22- 
  • At 12:58 a.m. a caller on Cambridge Street reported an erratic driver. 
  • At 2:21 a.m. a caller at Chipotle Mexican Grill reported a disturbance. Police arrived and separated intoxicated parties before a fight started. The subjects were picked up by a sober adult. 
  • At 12:46 p.m. a caller reported he hit some road debris under the Route 128 bridge. Police assisted with crash report. 
  • At 1:35 p.m. police issued a summons to a Burlington man on charges of operating a vehicle without an inspection sticker, not being in possession of a license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 
  • At 4:30 p.m. a caller on Middlesex Turnpike reported an erratic coming from the Lexington direction. Caller said the driver was speeding up and slowing down, beeping the horn and passing on the wrong side of the road. Vehicle gone when police arrived.  
  • At 6:03 p.m. a Brown Avenue caller reported his two vehicles were vandalized while parked in the driveway. 
  • At 6:17 p.m. an 18-year-old male was transported to Lahey Clinic after falling from the second floor at the Burlington Mall. 
  • At 6:55 p.m. a caller at the Burlington Mall reported her coat was stolen while she was shopping. The caller said she left the coat at the checkout at North Face and when she returned it was missing. Video surveillance showed who took the coat and it was recovered. 
  • At 9:45 p.m. a Cambridge Street caller reported his vehicle was broken into that evening. The trunk lock was damaged and a backpack was stolen. 
  • At 11:06 p.m. a Kohl's manager reported youths in the parking lot setting off car alarms and creating a disturbance. Youths gone when police arrived.
