Not a Heart Attack, but an OUI?

A Needham man was arrested Sunday, Oct. 28, after Newton police responded to Commonwealth Avenue and Chestnut Street for reports of someone possibly in cardiac arrest. When police arrived on scene, they found the man was not in cardiac arrest, was not diabetic, and was not on medication. After further evaluation, police found he was unsteady on his feet, was slurring his words and had bloodshot eyes. Police determined that the man was intoxicated, reports said. As a result, Daniel Richard Ryan, 27, of 7 Howe Road was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, police said: http://patch.com/A-zj9X

It Always Feels Like Somebody's Watching Me

Newton police responded to Morton Road on Tuesday, Oct. 23, after a resident reported a suspicious male had been outside, sitting in a parked car. According to reports, the resident said he started noticing the parked car about a year ago. A black Acura and a black SUV were seen parked in front of the house at different times, each time with the man in the car staring at the resident's home. One night, the resident looked out his bedroom window toward the car and opened his cell phone, so the light would shine; the car outside his house sped away without the headlights on. The resident also noticed a silver Honda recently parked outside his house, and when he tried to drive by to get the license plate, the man inside the Honda ducked down. After driving around the block and returning home, the man said the silver Honda was gone: http://patch.com/A-yYb2

The Keys Were in it, so I Thought it was OK to Swipe

Newton police responded to the Newtonville Sunoco on Wednesday for reports of a stolen car. According to reports, the shop owner noticed the car was missing when he saw his tow truck driver backing another car into the spot where the missing car was originally parked. The car, a 2001 Audi sedan, was left unlocked with the keys left in the vehicle. It was last seen at 8 p.m. Tuesday when the gas station attendant locked up for the evening: http://patch.com/A-yYb2
