Multiple Homes Broken Into and Vehicles Vandalized

The following are Burlington Police Department log entries from August 9 to August 11.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, August 9

  • At 1:11 a.m. a Beacon Village resident told police she woke up with blood in her bed and believed she was stabbed. The Fire Department was notified and transported the woman to Lahey Clinic. The subject's statement of what occurred was inconsistent and incoherent, and she possibly had a head injury. Police reassessed the situation after the victim received medical treatment.
  • At 4:02 p.m. a Hemlock Lane resident reported a cat stuck in her dryer vent outside. The Animal Control Officer was unavailable, and the caller attempted to contact an agency to assist.
Saturday, August 10
  • At 8:42 a.m. a Stoneybrook Road caller reported theft of items from the front of their home. Sometime overnight five driveway reflectors were taken from the front of the lawn.
  • At 12:51 p.m. a Maureen Drive resident told police that his home was broken into while he was away on vacation. Sometime between July 27 and August 9 the was was broken into. Damage was done to the exterior screen of the basement window and an upstairs door was also broken. Jewelry was reported missing.
  • At 5:47 p.m. an unoccupied vehicle rolled from a driveway on Cambridge Street into the side of another home. The Building Inspector reported that there was structural damage making the home unsafe at this time.
Sunday, August 11
  • At 1:20 a.m. a unite was flagged down by a passer by who said they saw two men break a window of a building behind the Shell Station before running behind the building. Police were unable to locate the suspects. The owner was contacted. The front door was smashed out and a window was also broken. A note was left on the sidewalk in front of the store.
  • At 2:29 a.m. the manager of Cafe Escadrille Inc. on Cambridge Street reported that the vehicles of three employees were vandalized in the lot while they were at work. Three different vehicles had their tires slashed.
  • At 6:04 p.m. a caller from Beacon Village reported that a woman hit him in the face with a wooden dog crate. Katie L. McKennon, 26, of 26 Beacon Street Apt. 54E, Burlington, was arrested and charged with assault and battery, along with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
  • At 7:32 p.m. a Maryvale Road resident reported that his home was burglarized. Between 3:30-7:30 p.m. a breaking and entering occurred with two laptops and jewelry stolen.
