Motor Vehicle Break-ins Reported, Neighbor Blocks Woman in With Vehicle

The following are Burlington Police log entries from July 26 to 28.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, July 26 

  • At 9:05 a.m. an Alma Road caller reported their mailbox was stolen sometime after 1 a.m. that morning. 
  • At 11:43 a.m. police issued a summons to a Brockton man on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, no inspection sticker and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 
  • At 12:19 p.m. police issued a summons to a Burlington man on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, no inspection sticker and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 
  • At 3:05 p.m. a Lowell Street caller said her neighbor swerved into the oncoming traffic lane directly at her, then intentionally blocked the street so she not get by. The caller said he then waved from his motor vehicle. Caller said she thought the action was because her husband was a witness to an assault the neighbor was party to. 
Saturday, July 27 
  • At 1:03 p.m. a caller at the Burlington Mall reported a motor vehicle breaking and entering. Caller said the rear drivers window was smashed an $1,500 in women's clothing was stolen. The items belonged to the caller's daughter who was shopping in the mall. 
  • At 8:58 p.m. a Burlington Mall security employee reported a motor vehicle breaking and entering of a customer's car. A purse with credit cards inside reported stolen. 
Sunday, July 28
  • At 9:13 a.m. a caller at Beacon Village reported their vehicle was struck in and a hit and run accident. The car was struck sometime overnight. 
  • At 1:56 p.m. a caller at Tavern in the Square reported a dog in a car for 2 - 3 hours. Police spoke with owner and advised on the situation.
