Man Summonsed for Assault and Battery With a Dangerous Weapon, Disturbing Funeral Service

The following are Burlington Police Department log entries from August 14 to August 15.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, August 14- 

  • At 12:51 a.m. a caller on Mulberry Lane requested help with a mouse inside his home. Police advised him to contact pest control. 
  • At 9:42 a.m. a caller at the Middlesex Turnpike Dunkin Donuts reported someone broke into his motor vehicle and stole $100. 
  • At 12:06 p.m. a Hilltop Drive caller reported finding a 3-wheeled handicapped cart in his driveway and didn't know why it was there. It turned out the battery had run out and the owner returned later to pick it up. 
  • At 1:47 p.m. a caller at Wayside plaza reported her vehicle was damaged, possibly in a hit and run accident. Damage on the driver's side door. 
  • At 3 p.m. police issued a summons to a man after an employee at the Shell Station at Middlesex Turnpike reported a white male stole a gas can. 
  • At 4:37 p.m. a Peach Orchard Road caller reported their motor vehicle was keyed while parked in the driveway. 
  • At 4:47 p.m. a manager from Anthropologie in the Burlington Mall reported $2,888 was stolen about an hour earlier. 
  • At 6:05 p.m. police issued a summons to a Methuen man on a charge of using a motor vehicle without authority. Summons issued after his girlfriend said he took the vehicle without permission. 
  • At 7:53 p.m. a Border Cafe manager reported a customer's vehicle was broken into an an iPhone and headphones were stolen. 
  • At 9:34 p.m. police issued a summons to a Woburn woman on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. 
Thursday, August 15- 
  • At 7:45 a.m. police issued a summons to a Woburn resident on charges of no inspection sticker, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and not being in possession of a registration. 
  • At 2 p.m. a Locust Street caller said that a male operator of a black vehicle stopped twice and took her picture. Police contacted the man through Avis/Budget vehicle rental and he apologized for doing a "dumb" thing and stated it would not happen again. Police advised him that his information was being logged in case other issues take place. 
  • At 4:39 p.m. police issued a summons to a Woburn man on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. 
  • At 7:23 p.m. police issued a summons to a East Hampstead NH man on charges of assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and disturbing a funeral service. Summons issued after a caller from Sullivan Funeral Home reported an ongoing argument between family members and that the man assaulted his sister.
