Man Arrested on Motor Vehicle Charges, Children Move Turtles Out of the Road

Burlington Police Logs for September 14 to 16.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, September 14- 

  • At 10:20 a.m. a Sandy Brook Road caller reported kids putting turtles in the roadway. Police spoke to two youths who said they saved five turtles by moving them out of the road. No turtles were seen in the road. 
  • At 3:22 p.m. a couple of caller reported children holding signs for a carwash were in the street in front of Memorial School in what appeared to be a hazardous situation. Police spoke with parents and advised the children. 
  • At 7:03 p.m. a Bennet Lane caller reported a white male attempting to remove an air conditioner to gain access to an apartment. Subject detained and identified as a tenant. 
  • At 7:15 p.m. a caller at Wendy's reported a suspicious package in a trash barrel. The items were flashing and making alarm sounds. The items turned out to be security tags cut from merchandise. 
  • At 7:47 p.m. a Middlesex Turnpike caller reported someone struck his vehicle sometime since noon. Damage to driver's side fender and gas cap. 
Sunday, September 15 
  • At 6:54 a.m. a Burlington Mall caller reported a male running after her in the parking lot. Turns out the male was a new employee trying to gain access to the mall and wanted to catch the door before it closed. 
  • At 12:28 p.m. a Cutting Lane caller reported her husband is being verbally abusive and will continue to be so until divorce is finalized. 
  • At 5:01 p.m. a caller on Cambridge Street reported a hit and run. The caller stated a man in a gray Lexus backed up into her Jeep and then took off when she went to get her paperwork. Lexus should have rear bumper damage. 
  • At 8:20 p.m. police issued a summons to a Tewksbury man on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. 
  • At 9:31 p.m. police placed a Burlington man into protective custody following a well being check. 
Monday, September 16-
  •  At 9:04 a.m. a manager at the Macaroni Grill reported an employee making harassing comments to her. Same advised of her rights. 
  • At 2:31 p.m. police arrested Sean Galvin, 23, of 1 Chestnut Street, Milford, on charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police and speeding. 
  • At 8:35 p.m. a caller on Cambridge Street reported a hit and run accident. Caller said he was rear-ended and when he pulled over to exchange papers the other driver drove away. 
  • At 8:42 p.m. police issued a summons to a Woburn man on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
