Man Arrested for Operating Under Influence of Liquor, Another for Shoplifting

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, December 20- 

  • At 1 a.m. police arrested John Thomas Murphy, 10 Mohawk Road, Burlington, on charges of failure to stop/yield, possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and operating under the influence of liquor. 
  • At 11:08 a.m. at St. Margaret's Parish reported a dog bite. The caller said she was with her children playing on the hill when a dog ran down the hill and bit her on the upper right arm. The dog's shots and registration were up to date. 
  • At 11:58 a.m. police issued a summons to a Chelsea man on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and no inspection sticker. 
  • At 3:48 p.m. police arrested Daishaun Larence, 21, of 435 River Street, Apartment 203, Mattapan, on charges of larceny under $250 (3 counts). Arrest made after Macy's reported employee theft. 
  • At 5:10 p.m. police issued a civil citation to a male party at the Burlington Mall for marijuana use and intoxication. Male turned over to his mother. 
  • At 7:04 p.m. Sears loss prevention reported a 15-year-old male attempted to steal a knife. The child was released to his parents.
