Man Arrested for Credit Card Fraud and Drug Possession, Teenager Struck by Vehicle

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, October 25-

  • At 11:54 a.m. a Farms Drive caller reported a breaking and entering of his motor vehicle. Stereo components stolen. No damage or signs of forced entry.
  • At 12:59 p.m. a caller at H-Mart reported a hit and run accident. 
  • At 1:24 p.m. a Greystone CT caller reported a that a motor vehicle struck her daughter the day before. The caller said a white motor vehicle with an elderly male drive struck and knocked down her 14-year-old daughter as she was walking home from school. The girl was not injured. 
  • At 1:48 p.m. police issued a summons to a Cambridge resident on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Summons issued following a vehicle stop. 
  • At 3:35 p.m. a caller from Marshall Simonds Middle School reported sneakers stolen from her locker. 
  • At 4:20 p.m. police arrested Irving Mejia, 25, of 22150 Creston Avenue, Apartment 1, Bronx, NY, on charges of credit card fraud over $250 (three counts), forgery of a document (four counts), uttering false document (five counts), credit card fraud under $250 (two counts), possession of a class B drug and possessing counterfeit credit card. Arrest made after Nordstrom loss prevention reported a male using fraudulent credit cards. 
  • At 5:54 p.m. a caller reported an erratic driver in a black Mercedes on Cambridge Street. 
Saturday, October 26- 
  • At 7:36 a.m. an officer reported trash dumped in the roadway at Middlesex Turnpike and Fourth Avenue. 
  • At 4:01 a.m. a caller from Planet Fitness requested help with escorting a female from the premises. The woman left prior to police arrival. 
  • At 4:49 p.m. a Keans Road caller reported her 12-year-old daughter received a threatening text message on her cell phone from an anonymous sender. The girl said she could not think of anyone who would have made the threat. 
  • At 4:56 p.m. a manager from Sonesta Es Suites reported a customer left without paying his bill. 
  • At 9:58 p.m. a caller at Tavern in the Square reported seeing a Hispanic male wearing baggie clothes, a colorful shirt and a baseball cap peering into cars in the rear lot.
