Ice Cream Shop Employee Threatened by Man Angry Business Was Closed

Burlington Police logs from August 31 to September 2.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, August 31- 

  • At 6:53 a.m. a Cambridge Street caller reported a man in a hospital gown walking down the street. Police checked the area but the man was gone. 
  • At 8:48 a.m. police issued a summons to a Burlington resident on charges of operating a motor vehicle without an inspection sticker, miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense). 
  • At 2:04 p.m. police issued two summons following a motor vehicle stop on Cambridge Street. Police issued a summons to a Burlington woman on charges of operating a motor vehicle with no inspection sticker, miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation and allowing the improper use of a motor vehicle. Police also issued a summons to a Burlington man on charges of operating a motor vehicle with no inspection sticker, miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 
  • At 10:49 p.m. a Westwood Street caller reported a vehicle, a dark SUV, continuously drive by the house and honk their horns. Caller said this is an on-going issue. 
Sunday, September 1- 
  • At 5:53 p.m. police arrested William Wightman, 55, of 25 Kenmar Drive, Apartment 24, Billerica, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. 
  • At 8:21 p.m. a James Street caller reported her ex-husband was driving by the house and harassing her. She said he was unhappy about the time of a bedtime phone call with his children and called 41 times in an hour and drove by the residence. 
  • At 10:34 p.m. a woman called from School House Ice Cream to report that a customer was upset that the shop was closed and was banging on the front door. She said he also called and said he was coming down there to "beat her up." Police stayed at the ice cream place until all employees were in their cars. 
Monday, September 2- 
  • At 12:13 p.m. police issued summons to two Medford women and one Medford man on charges of larceny over $250. Summons issued after Lord & Taylor reported shoplifters. 
  • At 5:22 p.m. a Lexington Street caller reported she was assaulted by a staff member the day before. Police requested the caller come to the station but she never showed up. 
  • At 7:03 p.m. a caller at Extended Stay America reported two females yelled obscenities at her son and that it is an ongoing issue. Police advised both parties not to contact each other.
