ICE Arrests Man for Trespass, Suspicious Male Reported Talking to Kids in Backyard

Burlington Police logs from August 25 to 26.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Sunday, August 25- 

  • At 11:17 a.m. a person came to the station to report their vehicle was damaged the week before in a hit and run accident at the Dunkin Donuts at 182 Cambridge Street. 
  • At 1:30 p.m. an off-duty officer reported an erratic driver and observed multiple motor vehicle infractions. Citation to be issued by mail. 
  • At 2:10 p.m. a caller at the Burlington Mall reported vandalism to a motor vehicle. The rear passenger side window was smashed. The owner said they didn't notice anything missing from the vehicle. 
Monday, August 26- 
  • At 3:28 a.m. a caller reported his daughter's cell phone was stolen the day before in Malden and they had tracked it to a Burlington location. Phone recovered from someone who said a friend found it. 
  • At 8:05 a.m. U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) reported arresting a man after he returned to the ICE offices after being instructed to leave and caused a disturbance in the front foyer. ICE arrested Petrovych Olekshander, 32, of 13 Madison St., Apartment #B, Westfield on a charge of trespass. 
  • At 12:03 p.m. a caller on Van De Graaff Drive reported a window on her vehicle was smashed. An employee of a landscaping company accidentally broke the window. 
  • At 2:47 p.m. a Peach Orchard Road reported a suspicious man had been in his yard a few times the past couple of days. Caller said the man was a black male in his 20s. Police advised he call back if the man returned. 
  • At 2:53 p.m. a Winter Street resident reported a black male in his 20s walked into her backyard and attempted to speak with two 7-year-old children. 
  • At 9:35 p.m. police issued a summons to a Woburn woman on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. 
  • At 11:27 p.m. a Lowell Street caller reported someone drove over his front lawn and caused major damage.
