Home Break-In With Jewelry Stolen, Reports of Aggressive Solicitors Spaying Substance on Cars

Burlington Police logs from August 21 to 22.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, August 21

  • At 10:03 a.m. a man brought in a wallet that had no money. The wallet was owned by a Burlington resident and was returned. 
  • At 11:07 a.m. an officer at Upland Road and Fox Hill Road reported a Stop sign was spray painted. 
  • At 12:38 p.m. a woman brought in an iPhone 5 she found. Same was returned to owner. 
  • At 1:51 p.m. a caller from Busa Wine & Spirits reported that a person went into the cigar room and stole between 20 and 25 high price cigars. 
  • At 2:37 p.m. police arrested Jackie Kamwendo, 39, of 6 Baron Park Lane, Apartment 10, Burlington, on charges of operating a vehicle with no inspection sticker, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, motor vehicle operator refusing to identify self, an arrestee furnishing a false name and on a warrant from another agency. Arrest made following a motor vehicle stop on Middlesex Turnpike. 
  • At 2:28 p.m. a Eugene Road caller reported a home breaking and entering between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The rear doors appeared to be kicked in and several items including jewelry and medication were taken. 
  • At 6:47 p.m. a Litchfield Way caller reported solicitors not taking "no" for an answer. Caller said solicitor refused to leave property after multiple requests and then the solicitor sprayed a substance on the caller's vehicle. Solicitor described as a light-skinned black female. 
  • At 7:50 p.m. a caller reported an aggressive solicitor. 
  • At 8:45 p.m. a Peach Orchard Road caller reported a female solicitor being aggressive. 
  • At 10:16 p.m. a Brookside Lane reported a dark colored sedan ran over his neighbor's mailbox and fled the area. Mailbox was knocked off its post. 
  • At 11:09 p.m. a caller at Londi's Famous Roast Beef reported a fight in the parking lot. Police spoke to a man who said when he pulled in to a parking spot a man called his name and asked him for a smoke. The man said the other man then punched him in the face and fled the area. 
Thursday, August 22- 
  • At 3:21 p.m. a caller at the Burlington Mall reported that her wallet was either lost or stolen. The wallet had $150 inside. 
  • At 7:23 p.m. a caller reported a solicitor being aggressive. 
  • At 8:38 p.m. a Burberry manager reported a wallet was stolen by a black man and woman from the store. Wallet was worth $600.
