Helicopter Removes Plane From Woods Near Middlesex Turnpike

The Burlington Police Department posted photographs of a helicopter making runs to lift the plane out of the woods near Middlesex Turnpike.

It's been just about a week since a plane made an unexpected landing in the woods near Middlesex Turnpike while the two people on board parachuted to escape injury. As of Tuesday morning, the plane has been removed from its final landing spot.

The single-engine plane, which was piloted by an unidentified woman and also had one other person on board, plummeted into a swampy area about a half mile from the Burlington Mall on Wednesday, June 11, after losing an engine.

On Tuesday morning, Burlington Police tweeted out several photos that showed the process of the plane being removed.

A helicopter is seen taking off from a parking lot area and heading towards the wooded area. In another photo, the chopper is seen returning to the same area with the plane dangling from a long line.

After the plane was dropped off at the parking lot, the helicopter made another run to the crash site and returned with what appeared to be another item.
