Emergency Crews Respond to 3-Alarm Fire on Baron Park Lane, Conduct Ladder Rescues

One person was transported to the hospital as a result of the incident.

Emergency Crews responded to a 3-alarm fire at an apartment building at 8 Baron Park Lane shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday night.

Burlington Fire Department Chief Steve Yetman said when crews arrived at the scene there were visible flames. There were also reports of people still inside when member of the fire department reached the scene.

Yetman said one person was transported to the hospital. At this time we do not know the extent of any injuries or that person's condition. Three people in total were rescued by ladder.

It appears as if the fire started in a second floor apartment and spread to neighboring units and onto the third floor of the 40 unit apartment building, Yetman said.

By about 10 p.m. the fire was apparently knocked down. At that time crews were checking the building for extensions of the fire in walls and ceilings.

There was a big response and multiple fire departments from neighboring communities assisted.

Burlington Fire's fire prevention officer was on scene and the State Fire Marshall came to assist in determining a cause.
