Dunkin Donuts Offering Reward for Info Leading to Robbery Arrest

ABC News reports there have been 20 robberies of Dunkin Donuts in 15 communities since March 2012.

Police are investing a series of armed robberies at Dunkin Donuts in the state and the company is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest. 

According to ABC News, police officers from multiple communities gathered in Norwood on Wednesday to discuss ways to solve the case of a string of Dunkin Donuts robberies. The story states that since March of 2012 there have been 20 robberies of the coffee and donut franchise in 15 communities. 

In a statement sent to Patch, Dunkin Donuts said it was offering a reward for information leading to an arrest of the suspect. 

"We are working closely with our franchisees and the local law enforcement in regards to the situation," the statement reads. "Dunkin' Brands is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect, and we encourage anyone with information to contact the local authorities." 

One of the robberies was in Burlington. According to Burlington Police the Dunkin Donuts on Winn Street was robbed Monday night. The robbery occurred at 8:05 p.m. and about a half an hour later there was a robbery of a Bedford Dunkin Donuts by a man matching the same description. 

Burlington Police say the man entered the Winn Street Dunkin Donuts and brandished what appeared to be a pistol. The suspect was wearing a ski mask, black hooded jacket, jeans, black sneakers and black gloves. 

Also Monday night there was a robbery of a Hess Station in Waltham. According to a story on Waltham Patch, the incident began at 10:28 p.m. when police received a report of a robbery alarm at the 70 Prospect St. station, Police Sgt. Joseph Guigno said. When police arrived, the clerk told them the suspect had entered the store and pointed a black pistol at the clerk and demanded cash from the register. Police have not confirmed whether they believe this incident is related to the Dunkin Donuts robberies. 

The latest robbery happened Tuesday night. According to MyFoxBoston.com there was a robbery of a Dunkin Donuts on Hingham Street in Roxbury at about 7:40 p.m. on Tuesday night. The story states that employees said a masked gunman entered the store and demanded money before fleeing with an unknown amount of cash. 

Thankfully nobody has been injured in any of the robberies.
