Burlington Police said they responded to a pair of incidents involving hot cars on Tuesday afternoon, with charges likely for one of the people involved.

At about 1:30 p.m., police said that they had two separate calls going on at the same time. One of the calls involved a child left in a car, and the other involved a dog left in a car.

"Seriously, some people still don't know that this is dangerous," police tweeted.

In a follow up tweet shortly after, Burlington Police said the child was en route to the hospital with their mother as a precaution.

Police said they would file a 51A, which is a report of child abuse or neglect. In addition, they added that criminal charged would be brought forward via a summons at a later date.

In their final tweet on the incident, police said the case is still under investigation and no more information would be given at the time.

I'd like more info/details on this story... Were the vehicle windows up/down/cracked? Was the car parked in the shade or direct sunlight? How long was the parent/guardian gone? I am doing research. Thanks.

WHY WASN'T THE DOG OWNER CHARGED???? CRACKING WINDOES DOES NOT HELP, LEAVE THE PETS AT HOME!!!! I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE STUPIDITY OF PEOPLE. IF I SEE A CHILD OR ANIMAL IN A HOT CAR, I AM BUSTING YOUR WINDOWS OPEN
