Burlington Police: Person Will Be Charged After Leaving Child in Hot Car

Burlington Police said they responded to a pair of incidents involving hot cars on Tuesday afternoon, with charges likely for one of the people involved.

At about 1:30 p.m., police said that they had two separate calls going on at the same time. One of the calls involved a child left in a car, and the other involved a dog left in a car.

"Seriously, some people still don't know that this is dangerous," police tweeted.

In a follow up tweet shortly after, Burlington Police said the child was en route to the hospital with their mother as a precaution.

Police said they would file a 51A, which is a report of child abuse or neglect. In addition, they added that criminal charged would be brought forward via a summons at a later date.

In their final tweet on the incident, police said the case is still under investigation and no more information would be given at the time.
