Burlington Stabbing Suspect Indicted on Murder Charge

Christopher Piantedosi, 39, was indicted yesterday by a grand jury in the Middlesex District Court on charges of murder and malicious damage of property over $250.

The main suspect in the in her Burlington home was indicted yesterday, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone informed the public.

Christopher Piantedosi, 39, of Methuen, was indicted yesterday by a Middlesex Grand Jury on charges of murder in the first degree and malicious destruction of property over $250.

He will be arraigned June 12 at 9 a.m. in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn.

According to authorities, at approximately 6:45pm on May 3, . Upon arrival, officers located a female victim, evidencing obvious fatal stab wounds.  The victim, , 38, a resident of 23 Forbes Avenue, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Burlington Police and the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's Office launched an immediate investigation into the circumstances of the stabbing.  It is alleged that the defendant, who had had a long-standing relationship with the victim, stabbed the victim inside her residence and then fled.

An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (ME) determined the cause of death to be sharp force injuries to the head and chest and the manner of death homicide.

An arrest warrant for murder was issued the morning of May 4 for Piantedosi.  Piantedosi later turned himself into authorities at the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Weston. 

These charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. 

The Assistant District Attorney assigned to the case is Nicole Allain.  The Victim Witness Advocate is Karen Fahy.
