Update Jan.22 at 10:22 p.m.:

The Burlington Police Department has tweeted that the stolen tablet computer has been returned. According to the tweets a daughter of the woman in the video said her mother "found" the tablet and "thought it was okay to keep it."

Burlington Police will likely issue a summons on Thursday, the tweets state.

Original Story:

The Burlington Police Department is asking  the public's assistance in identifying a woman seen stealing a tablet on a surveillance video.

"Could this be someone's grandmother? Guess what? She's a thief!" the Police Department posted to it's Twitter feed and Facebook page.

In the video an older woman can be seen taking a computer tablet that had been left behind on a windowsill. The theft occurs at about the 34-second mark.

Burlington police posted a second video showing the woman moving the tablet from under her table, where she had initially placed it, into her bag. Check out that video here.

Police are asking that if anyone knows who the people in the video and the photo are to contact Lt. Mills at 781-505-4945.

She found the tablet and thought she could keep it! Really?.. nice try but this is called stealing. She won't do any jail time but at least the thief and her friends pictures and names will be out there for everyone to see.

The only Tablet this woman should be taking is a "Geritol" Tablet!

If you watch the video closely, it seems the daughter saw the tablet first and told the mother about it. Then she saw the mother take it. So why didn't she tell her to turn it into the people behind the counter ?
