Burlington Police K9 Havoc Receives Police Dog 1 Certification

The Burlington Police Department's canine officer received a special certification after competing in a regional trial. 

According to a release from the department, Officer Joe Papsedero and his K-9 Havoc recently competed in the United States Police Canine Association Region 4 Field Trials (USPCA). 

The event was hosted by the Boston Police Department to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Boston Police K-9 unit.

 More than 35 regional K-9 teams took part in the two day event.   K-9s were judged on obedience, agility, article & suspect searches, handler protection and criminal apprehension, with Havoc scoring 586.5 out of a possible 700 points, obtaining Havoc a USPCA Police Dog 1 Certification with excellence.

K-9 Havoc has been with the department since 2010, born in Slovakia, he is a 95 pound German Shepherd.
