Burlington Police Find $130,000 in Marijuana Plants, Arrest Owner

Burlington Police found 13 marijuana plants and $10,000 in growing equipment in home on Lexington Street.

Members of the Burlington Police Department have removed over a dozen marijuana plants from streets.

According to a relase form the department, Burlington Police arrested a local man charging him with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D drug, marijuana, after seizing 13 marijuana plants from his home.

Daniel Gentile, 37, of 116 Lexington St. Burlington was arrested last week and held without bail until his arraignment on Friday at Woburn District Court.

The Burlington Police Drug Unit executed a search warrant after their investigation led them to believe Gentile was operating an extensive marijuana cultivation business in his home. According to Lieutenant Detective Stephen O’Meara, Gentile’s home contained over $10,000 of equipment used to grow marijuana.

The seized plants ranged in size from 2 to 5 feet tall and weighed approximately 26 pounds.  According to police, the street value of the seized marijuana is estimated to be over $130,000. Gentle will also be charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon after police found a double edged sword at his residence.

$130,000 for 13 4-5' plants? That's ridiculous. Let's imagine you can muster a *generous* 2 ounces yield per plant. That's just 26 ounces. Figuring a street value of, say, 400 per ounce that's still only 10,400. Someone's math is way off.

if it was legal and he paid the state 6.25 % tax on lets say 100,000 dollars it would come to $6,250. Instead it cost money a ton of money on investigations, court costs and more importantly the police could go after serious crimes and hardcore drug problems.

they have to lie about the street value because if they didn't how do you justify spending a half million dollars on an investigation for plants thats actual street value barley hits 5,000 dollars theres no way anyone in mass is growing the high quality cannabis they grow in california........thats the true value of those plants is barley 5,000 hahahahahaah and the dumb community buys it hook line and sinker
