Members of the Burlington Police Department have removed over a dozen marijuana plants from streets.
According to a relase form the department, Burlington Police arrested a local man charging him with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D drug, marijuana, after seizing 13 marijuana plants from his home.
Daniel Gentile, 37, of 116 Lexington St. Burlington was arrested last week and held without bail until his arraignment on Friday at Woburn District Court.
The Burlington Police Drug Unit executed a search warrant after their investigation led them to believe Gentile was operating an extensive marijuana cultivation business in his home. According to Lieutenant Detective Stephen O’Meara, Gentile’s home contained over $10,000 of equipment used to grow marijuana.
The seized plants ranged in size from 2 to 5 feet tall and weighed approximately 26 pounds. According to police, the street value of the seized marijuana is estimated to be over $130,000. Gentle will also be charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon after police found a double edged sword at his residence.
