“This defendant is alleged to have met the victim online, deceptively gaining her trust before arranging to meet her.  Upon meeting her, he drove her to a secluded area and raped her,” District Attorney Leone said in the release.  “Compounding this, the defendant then proceeded to threaten the victim with the release of a video of the alleged rape.  The anonymity of the Internet allows for an environment that predators take advantage of and something for people, especially young people and their parents, to be mindful of when using the Internet to network socially.”

According to authorities, in November 2011, the defendant met the female victim online.  The victim agreed to meet the defendant and, on November 21, 2011, the defendant picked the victim up in his motor vehicle.  It is alleged that the defendant drove to and parked at a secluded dead-end street in Burlington. While parked, it is alleged that the defendant indecently assaulted and raped the victim.
