Burlington Man Faces Animal Cruelty Charge in Maine

A Burlington man will be summonsed to a Maine court due to allegation of animal cruelty. 

According to a story in the Maine news outlet Fence Viewer, on Sunday, July 7, two dogs were transported to a veterinarian clinic in Bar Harbor after they were left in a vehicle in the hot sun

Police issued a summons to Sandeep Rudraraju, 28, of Burlington on a charge of cruelty to animals after he returned to the vehicle later that day. 

The article states the outside temperature that day was 88 degrees. Police said the animals were so hot they could barely breath and that according to veterinarians at Acadia Veterinary Hospital the dogs were near death.
