Burlington Man Arrested for Driving at 114 Miles Per Hour

A Burlington resident who took a high-speed morning drive in New Hampshire is facing charges after police clocked his vehicle at over one hundred miles per hour.

According to a release from the New Hampshire State Police at about 8 a.m. on Friday, July 5, Trooper First Class Sean Faherty of the NH State Police Special Enforcement Unit arrested Lawrence Chiodi, 48 of Burlington for Reckless Driving.

Faherty was monitoring northbound traffic on I-93 in the Town of Bow when he clocked a 2012 Ford Mustang with his Lidar (Laser) device at 114 MPH. Faherty stopped the vehicle just prior to the I-89 junction and placed the operator, Chiodi, under arrest for Reckless Driving, the release states.

Chiodi was processed at the Troop-D barracks before being released on personal recognizance bail. He will be arraigned in the 6th Circuit, District Division, Concord Court on August 19, 2013 at 8 a.m.

The NH State Police Special Enforcement Unit regularly interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors. Its members patrol across the state during commuter traffic periods and holiday travel times with the goal of keeping New Hampshire’s roadways safe for all residents and visitors.
