Burlington Man Arrested After Somerville Bank Robbery

The unarmed robbery occurred Saturday morning.

A 23-year-old Burlington man allegedly robbed the East Boston Savings Bank in Somerville’s Union Square Saturday morning.

A Somerville Police detective spotted a man, matching the suspect’s description, walking fast roughly a half-mile from the bank soon after the robbery at about 9:20 a.m.

The man, later identified as Robert Tedesco, of 78 Bedford St., Burlington, had red dye on him from the bank dye pack that exploded, police said. When asked if he had just robbed the bank, Tedesco said, “I did it … you got me,” according to police.
