Library Card Sign–up Month

September is National Library Card sign-up month and a time for people to rediscover their library.  You all know the traditional uses of a library card which is to check out books and other materials.  Did you know that with a library card, you can borrow passes to 20 area museums and attractions, most of which are funded by the Friends.  Also, with your Burlington card, you can access a large number of databases from home.  Burlington card holders can subscribe to Wowbrary and get free alerts that list new materials in our library. Just this July, we added Freegal Music to our offerings and now, with your Burlington card, you can download free music each week! If you have not tried these new offerings, visit our website or the library to learn more. If you haven’t got a card, now’s the time to get one!

To obtain a card, bring identification with a picture and proof of current address/residence to the Circulation Desk. For a child who has not finished 8th or reached 14 years of age, it is the choice of the parent or guardian as to when the child may obtain a library card. The adult must present identification as indicated above when signing the registration form. The child must be present to obtain a card.
