Join us at the Library this summer - there are special Summer Reading Programs for everyone from babies through adults.

New Museum Pass

The Library is pleased to add another new pass to its collection – Einstein’s Workshop.  “Einstein's Workshop in Burlington  is an amazing space for kids to explore the creative side of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)." Einstein’s Workshop has generously donated this pass that admits two children to their play space at no charge.

See a list or reserve a pass list by visiting the library's website. Most passes are provided by the “Friends of the Burlington Public Library" with funds from your membership and your support of all of the Friends’ fundraisers.

You’re invited to join the Friends at Flatbread Pizza on Tuesday, August 6 from 5pm until closing.  A portion of the price of any pizzas ordered  (both dine-in and take-out) will be donated to the Friends of the Library. While you’re there, be sure to enter the Raffle for the opportunity to win 2 box seat tickets to see the Red Sox!

 

 

Library Hours

The Library will be closed on Thursday, July 4 to celebrate Independence Day.

Summer hours have begun at the library.  From Sunday, June 16 through Labor Day the hours are as follows:

Monday-Thursday     10am - 9pm

Friday                        10am - 6pm

Saturday                    10am – 2pm

Sunday                                  closed

 

 


May Basket Donor Correction

We would like to be sure to thank Burlington Family Dental for the generous donation of a gift certificate for teeth whitening. They were inadvertently left off the list of donors reported previously. Each May, we can count on Burlington Family Dental to make this valuable and very popular donation for the raffle.

 

Storytimes Resume

The Summer session of storytimes begin July 3 and will end August 21.  Review the schedules below to find the best session for your child:

Pajama Storytime - Tuesdays July 2 & August 6 @ 6:30 pm All ages. Enjoy stories in your PJ’s with the whole family!

Family Storytime Wednesdays @ 10:30 am All ages.  Enjoy stories together followed by an activity!

Baby Storytime Fridays @ 11 am Share stories, rhymes, and movement with your baby! For caregivers with children ages birth to 18 months.

Toddler Storytime Fridays @ 11:30 Listen to stories, and join in on songs and games! For caregivers with children ages 18-36 months.

 

Summer Reading Events

Summer Reading Kick-Off, Thursday, June 27, 10am-1 pm

We look forward to seeing you all this summer for another exciting Summer Reading Program.  The kick-off for “Dig Into Reading” will include children’s games, registration, prizes of tee shirts and Canobie Lake Park Passes, and a performance by Keith Johnson, a fun and fascinating Bubbleologist (a fancy word for bubble maker) @ 11.

We’ll have a variety of events for all ages throughout the summer and numerous opportunities to earn great prizes.  We’ll see you at the library!

 

Teen Summer Reading Kick-Off, Thursday, June 27, 3-4:30pm

The Teen kick-off for the “Beneath the Surface” program will include ice cream and a professional hula hooper to show you the fun way to burn off the ice cream!  We’ll have great activities and prizes all summer long.

 

Sergeant Read-a-Lot Retirement Party - Friday, June 28, 11 am-noon

Say goodbye to the dog of the hour.  Listen to stories, play limbo, and have some cake.  Also be sure you have checked out the week’s postcard from our new mascot, Bob the Gnome.  Your guess for his location goes into the raffle box on the YS desk.
