New England fans rejoice! The hometown team pulled through to become the world champs!
The Boston Red Sox clinched the World Series Title agains the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday and garnered the team's eighth Word Series Championship. This is the third time the Boston Red Sox have won the title in the past decade.
The Red Sox came out victorious with a score of 6 to 1 in the sixth game of the World Series, giving them a 4 to 2 World Series Victory over the Cardinals.
David (Big Papi) Ortiz summed up the victory well and made reference to his response of the Boston Marathon bombing earlier this, and his famous off-the-cuff defiance of terrorism after the bombings, during a post-game interview.
"This is our (bleep) city!" Ortiz said. Continuing to say that Boston fans are the most passionate in baseball.
