Violence Against Women Walk

Saheli, Support and Friendship for South Asian Families, a Burlington based non-profit is holding its annual 5K Walk/run to raise awareness against Violence against women and domestic violence. In the USA 1 in 3 women will be subject to violence in their lifetime and 3 million children witness violence in their families, which leads to life-time health and psychological problems like obesity, depression and anxiety. There is a $10 registration fee at the event, but the main aim is to raise awareness. After the walk, we will have a free lunch and a program on our mental health initiative, Men's initiative, and support groups for women. Everyone is welcome to attend both the walk and the program or any part of it. This is an inclusive event, open to all communities and families.
