The Ernest Hemingway Collection: Examining the Man, Myth & Master; An Evening with Tom Putnam

Ernest Hemingway is a true legend of the 20th century, not only for his writing—for which he was awarded both the Pulitzer and Nobel Prizes—but also for his larger-than-life life: WWI hero, big-game hunter, Hollywood hobnobber, world-traveller, and passionate outdoorsman.

Join us this evening as Kennedy Library Director Tom Putnam shares insights into the life and career of Ernest Hemingway based on the Hemingway Collection, which is housed at the Kennedy Library and includes recent materials uncovered from Hemingway's home in Cuba. He will explain how these materials came to the Library and use portions of the collection, including video and audio, to tell the story of Hemingway's famed writing career and notorious public persona. Based on Hemingway's writing, the audience will better understand how his revolutionary style has stood the test of time, and perhaps better appreciate why Hemingway continues to fascinate so many.

The cost of this evening's event is $10.00.  Pre-registration, using a VISA or MasterCard, strongly recommended by contacting Lexington Community Education at 781 862 8043.
