Safety Town is Headed to Burlington Mall!

Safety Town
is a child-sized town, complete with buildings, cross walks, street signs and
traffic signals, where local-area children who are entering kindergarten or
first grade will be taught pedestrian, traffic and bus safety in a supervised
environment.

Burlington Police Officers will instruct the children on the proper conduct for various
traffic situations and the correct way to get on and off school buses. Safety
Officer Bernie Schipelliti believes that “the lessons we teach these children
allow them to make safety a part of everyday.”

Children who wish to participate in this year’s Safety Town,
a free program, MUST be entering kindergarten or first grade.
Graduates will be presented with a diploma for completing the course, as well
as goodie bags!
