Local Martial Arts Instructor Receives Hall of Honor Award

Local martial arts champion, Nathan Porter, was recently inducted into the Action Martial Arts Hall of Honors. This event took place on January 26, 2014 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Among an audience of over 1,500 martial arts fans, students, and celebrities, Porter was recognized into the Hall of Honors for Excellence in Teaching. This prestigious award is given only to those nominated by a Hall of Honors member that recognizes the candidate has contributed in a great way of growth in the arts. Nathan Porter was also inducted into the World Martial Art Federation Hall of Fame as the Youth Instructor of the Year in 2010. 

Nathan Porter is the co-owner of New England Movement Arts (NEMA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that offers world-class instruction in martial arts, dance, fencing, and fitness for both youth and adults. NEMA is conveniently located at 123 Muller Road in Burlington, near the intersection of Route 128 and the Middlesex Turnpike. The NEMA facility is housed in an 18,000 square foot warehouse adjacent to the Burlington Middlesex Commons and is within easy travel distance of Arlington, Burlington, Lexington, Winchester, Wilmington, and Woburn. The facility includes a martial arts studio, two large dance studios that also serve as a black box theatre, a fitness room, and a tumbling studio. Porter has been teaching martial arts and Rising Storm Karate for over fourteen years and has won numerous titles and championships.
